A* episode 3 is now available for your perusal on its home page, on deviantART, and on YouTube in HD. Many thanks to everyone who discussed or otherwise supported the development of this episode! And you won't have to wait long to catch the second half of this story flashback, because I'm starting right in on episode 4 tomorrow. Give episode 3 a watch and let me know what you think!

Great episode! I always assumed the incident was much more recent... so, Vero had a whole year to plan his revenge, eh? I like where this is heading. Usual music + sfx remix should be done some time today or tomorrow.

Yeah I think the faster pacing probably helps make it easier to sit through. :) I think the *next* episode will be better as far as drama goes; I'd originally thought the flashback would be just one episode, but there ended up being too much ground to cover, so I had to split it up. That made episode 3 the one that sets things up, and 4 will be the one that knocks them down, so to speak.

Classes are finally over, so I have more time for this sort of thing. I've got the music part done, and a general idea for what effects to use (that helmet woosh will get a lot of mileage.). The most time consuming part will be resyncing the voices... oh, and of course the downtime while WMM encodes to WMV.

Also, you gotta remember the space and time scales we're dealing with here; distances between star systems around the galactic center can be measured in light hours, days, months--even years, and these people don't have faster-than-light ships, so travel time to or from a relatively remote system can take a while. Even communication takes a while to travel, so if Vero got back and had to do some checking on things to make plans--well, that and the travel and the hiding on the hull of Metropole could all have taken a good chunk of that year.

Ah. Didn't realize that the residents of A* were without FTL. That makes a big difference.

Hmm... not to nitpick, but I think I found a tiny continuity error. In scene 5a, Vero is shown from behind with a helmet on, but isn't wearing one for his closeup.
