This song must be all about the galactic core, 'cause where else are ya gonna get a world receiving significant radiation from 1000 stars?

Ooh, for episode 13:

If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die
I'd spend the end with you
And when the world was through
And one by one
The stars would all go out
Then you and I
Would simply fly away

And maybe this one:

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind.

Although maybe I'd just use the first half of the song. :P

I could probably find somewhere to work this in:

Hm his "Future Shock" could work too, for that matter:

This was the track whose ~first half I used at the end of the animated version of episode 7:

It's a chant from the traditional Latin Mass. The full lyrics are
Quote:
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem.
which means
Quote:
Lamb of God, you who take away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, you who take away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, you who take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

I cut the version used in episode 7 after the third "Agnus Dei"--so, no asking for peace in A*. Although I'd certainly heard the Agnus Dei in Latin and English before, I didn't consciously remember it...but somehow putting it in there like that sounded right. :o

For episode 17, German singer Nena's "99 Luftballons" (original 1984 German version):

The 1984 English version ("99 Red Balloons," although the direct translation of the German title is simply "99 Balloons") is here, and there's an English translation in the uploader comment on the 2009 German/French version here. The song is about an apocalyptic world war that breaks out when a trigger-happy military starts firing on a cloud of 99 red balloons released by children, having mistaken the balloons for hostile UFOs or something. :o

I came across this while googling the name "Nena," which I'd chosen for the name of the planet in episode 17--Nena was an ancient minor supercontinent of Earth; the name is an acronym for "Northern Europe and North America," of which Nena contained parts.

A reader introduced me to this song, with an eye toward the Holy Archive in episode 17 ;) (warning: mature lyrics):

I'm not sure why it took me so long to think of it, but Goldfrapp's Utopia

has lines bearing some resemblance to what we know of the Selenis clone project, like

My dog needs new ears
make his eyes
see forever.
Make him live
like me,
again and again.

and

I'm wired to the world,
that's how I
know
everything.
I'm super brain,
that's how they made me.

And the chorus could be reminiscent of Earth Revival's attempt to recreate Earth:

Fascist, baby.
Utopia.
Utopia.

Anyway it's a good song. :D

For episode 21:

It's not enough to tell me that you care
When we both know that words are empty air
