This topic is extremely relevant to my interests...

I'm gonna get caught up and then maybe pretend that I know/understand things.

I'm extremely unqualified, but ridiculously fascinated by this type of stuff.

The beginning of this video (and I'm not just embedding this because I'm listed in the credits at the end :D)

made me realize that the silliness I was spouting near the beginning of this thread about everything being little vibrations is more or less what "string theory" is; only I don't like the sound of some other things about it, like (this is at about 1:30 in the video) there being "closed loops" of these vibrations that "contain gravity."
