I don't know exatcly why, but being around this site remember me about the beautiful Aronfonsky movie.

Anyone watched that?

I thought the visuals were pretty neat--that Central American temple, the tree, the bubble in space... Wasn't as keen on the story and characters.

I hear his "The Wrestler" movie is pretty good, and it has Mickey Rourke in it... I'll hafta see that one some day.

Yah, The Fountain is the only one of his movies I've seen though!

try to watch at least phi, and hold your stomach.... :)

It took me several trys to get all the way through "The Fountain." Unlike many films that also use flashbacks and parallel stories this one was confusing. The visuals were spectacular, which is why I kept coming back, but having to watch those and then trying to figure out the story was a sort of conflict. It seems to me that only one story with the visuals would have been more appealing and immediately accessable,
but it would have lacked the cosmic relevance that finally hit you when the whole story was done and the credits rolled.
A very beautiful film.
