(Sketchy is currently paused while I concentrate on my sci-fi comic, A*.)

Simple and ridiculous as it is, "Sketchy" can be derived--pretty nearly entirely--from concepts mined from other, far superior comics: Nedroid (gleefully absurd adventures), 123 Step! (sketch comic), and Soup (blob character). Put those three together, and you have the obviously winning combination of a hastily drawn blob who has absurd adventures: Sketchy!

The reasons for it are that I've been wanting to have some outlet for absurd adventurism, and that I got to liking the thin line / thick line sketch technique I came up with as a time-saving device in cranking out storyboards for A*. If I can draw 60 of those in a day, surely drawing just one per day--and one that probably doesn't even have a human character in it--should be a snap, right? How smart is that. It started out being drawn with the Brush Tool in the ancient Photoshop 4; currently, I draw it using the Ink Tool in the free program GIMP.

Also, there's no story. Well, there is a story, but only in the sense that your mind struggles to make logical sense of things it reads in sequence--a tendency Sketchy will be exploiting to the fullest! Prepare for meaningless absurdity on a daily basis.

Well, not on weekends. You'll just have to supply that for yourself.

Prints are printed from the high-resolution (starting with page 187, anyway) source files on glossy 8.5"x11" cardstock by an industrial, truck-sized printer, and signed by me in sparkly ink! Sketchy prints come *with* their captions by default, but if you'd prefer just the picture part, you can specify that in the "Special Instructions" field on the order form.

I like what you have so far. Almost Curit-y. Hmm... a few more, and Starschwar-Mar won't be able to stop himself from providing narration.

I keep forgetting about poor Sketchy. Just finished my backlog. Funny stuff. I'm going to do that Mar-styled narration once my work load thins out.

I've been meaning to ask... is Sketchy modeled after a clenched fist, in profile?

Nope! Does he look particularly fisty in one of them? Maybe I should do that some time, make him like a Super Twin: form of...a fist!

Man, the Super Twins sound awesome. Not like those lame Wonder Twins who just turned into buckets of water.

And no, that's not mine.
