I got stuck at like the first bossishy thing in that game. I need to get back and give it another shot some time. I like the style, but it seems a little style over function in some ways.

Same thing more or less happened to me. Replayed it to completion a few months ago. There's a lot of substance... but a lot of it won't make sense immediately.

Ah, yes. The rare case of an edited dub improving upon the source material - the Japanese end credit theme was aweful.
