I can upload them anytime, the DVD would be a much larger upload of course. id like to upload them straight to the source if possible. the dvd maybe ill put on torrent or i use newsgroups which is way better and faster, just costs money to rent the server space.

Apparently they put 'em back up so people could make backups. New post from Virrago: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/post ... 6300030330Developers love nice vague deadlines. ;)

Actually that was posted on 7/29 and DN1 came down a couple days later. Now its sprung to life again, huzzah! As Peter Chimaera would say, "Is Maytrix Tricks!" Unfortunately I expect this not to be permanent. The only problem is the site where official pics were hosted are gone, so in any Live Event thread for example, is just an empty box with an indicator of what that file was but nothing more :-( This is where I'm hoping you might be able to help us out at at some point, with your kind assistance, if you deem fit, and for historical preservation purposes; if we save the threads sans pics, we can plug the pics in ourselves. (crosses fingers) :-)

Ohh right! Huh. =P Well, I guess it will be interesting to see how long it stays up this time. I did notice the images were down because I was vaguely wondering if maybe the Image Retrieval pictures were still there...but I think they *were* among the ones I burned to disk, although so far I've been too lazy to try rummaging around all those disks to double-check. I had thought that at least one or two other people had backed up all that stuff including the forum-posted images. If that turns out not to be the case then I don't have any major objection to loading them onto some free (at least, one I don't have to pay for ;)) file sharing service somewhere, although I guess I'd need pointers because I haven't used one of those before. Bah okay I'd better go check my disks before I go making promises I can't keep... Hm okay yeah seven CDs, non-zipped mostly jpg image files, from my LE and IR DN1 posts--presumably all of the ones that were posted, but I suppose I can't absolutely guarantee that I didn't miss one here or there. Disc 7 has only about 200 MB, so might be somewhere around 4 GB total.

Well, I asked all my MXO buds on Facebook, and nobody appeared to have or know of an organized archive of the Live Event, Image Retrieval, etc images that used to be on DN1 (which is back down now, it appears), so I've uploaded mine--or roughly the first half of the 4.29 GB total, anyway. These files won't be hosted at this location indefinitely; assuming my site's monthly bandwidth allotment holds up, I'll probably take them down in a couple weeks and replace them with the second half, which will be up for a couple more weeks before disappearing from my overtaxed server forever. So if you or someone you know can get them a nice permanent home on some server, that would be super. :D Check the readme.txt for specific details on the contents of the archives. here
