Writing of episode 12 has gone well, so well in fact that I may be able to kick it off by Wednesday, which would also mean two pages each day Monday and Tuesday to wrap up episode 11. I am liking this scenario.

It's technically Monday so I'm uploading a page. :) I'll upload another one later today!

Added 2 new A* pages: Writing episode 12 went well on Friday, so well that we'll be able to start in on the new episode this Wednesday, which also means two pages of episode 11 both today and tomorrow to put that one to bed. Episode 12 is gonna be quick and dirty: quick because that's just how this next section of the story fits into an episodic structure, and dirty because I get to draw an actual fight scene, which I've been looking forward to for a long time now. Whee! It'll be a fun episode, I think, but then again I say that every episode (and I'm always right! :PP). ~~~~~ My Sunday fairy tale comic "The Princess and the Giant" updated over the weekend, and you can check out the latest page if you want by clicking this little stamp-sized preview: ~~~~~~ Oh yeah, also I put a rotated, isolated version of Selenis from today's page 11:131 into the episode 11 gallery, and here it is: Final two pages of episode 11 tomorrow!

Added 2 new A* pages: Ouch. Thus endeth episode 11! I hope you enjoyed this one, even if the ending may have left you scratching your head a bit; these things will get worked out eventually. I think. The freaky-looking dude in these last two pages is indeed Proctor; it was kind of an interesting experiment for me to see what rendering him in a more realistic fashion--while still retaining some of his characteristic cartoonish features--would look like, and the answer is: weird. :o He and Mar were born back in the early episodes, when I was drawing A* for animation, and became pretty much stuck in very cartoony (and fun to draw!) shapes; on the other hand, especially since I stopped drawing A* for animation, I've been trying to get a more realistic look going, so they've been clashing a bit with, say, Selenis. We'll be bidding Proctor and Mar goodbye for a while as the story takes Selenis away from Core Sys into a darker and dingier corner of the galactic core. You can't see that area yet in these storyboards I drew up for the beginning of episode 12 yesterday (they're in random order below), but can you guess how many Selenisses-- uh...Seleni are shown here? Answer: 3. How's that? Stick around for episode 12 to find out; it begins tomorrow!

I love the contrast of Proctor's previous incarnations and his most recent. He looks like a twisted clown in the last two panels of Ep11, which suits him perfectly I think. I think that the transition from meek, cartoony / innocent Proctor to this sudden monster in the second-to-last panel (pg 132) reveals something hidden about him, that he maybe had been bottling up secret rage against Mar or other antagonists, and finally let it loose against Selenis after she shot him. Anyways, these simple two frames add layers of depth to Proctor's character that might otherwise have not been explored. Bravo.

Hello! I'm a recent A* addict, and I too love the realistic Proctor. It is very Frank Miller-esque and I think it would even be cool to go back and forth.

Thanks for the feedback on that, guys. I'm still smiling to myself about the "twisted clown" observation; that's undeniably right on the money as far as those two pages go! I don't know if it's quite what I want for Proctor long-term, but it was a fun experiment at least. =D
