Uploading now. This is my favorite episode so far, and also the custom version I'm most proud of having made.

Video responsify it! :D

Where d'you get your sound effects? I'm trying to avoid getting sucked into sound FX, but I did notice what seems like a pretty large free SFX site: http://www.freesound.org/

I like the sound effect for zipping through the ship's central shaft, and the iris door sounds in there. The cigarette-lighterish sound for flipping the mining charge detonator open works well, too!

The operatic track over the main action is nice, even if it does drown out some of the lines.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I got a lot of FX from various sources... but almost all of them are just compilations of sounds from popular movies and video games, so I don't think you could actually use them. The corridor sound was just a repeated "mix with file" command in windows sound recorder, all of them the same barny door opening sound I use a lot. The "lighter" was some sort of detonator or something from the game F.E.A.R.

It was difficult to find a good ballance between the dialouge, fx, and music... though, I kinda like the way the music overpowers the dialogue in certain bits... representing Vero's rage, or something.

I've been having a lot of fun making these. Of course, I'll do one for episode 5, once it's complete... but I've also got something else in the works.

Once Vero's story is complete (or at least, at a natural pause), I'm going to make a special "movie" - containing all of the episodes so far. I'll be using different music for the most part - generally stuff that isn't Youtube-compliant. Or... more than my usual selection, anyway. I've already got episodes 1-4 edited and scored, with the events at Tempus intercut as flashbacks during Vero's attempt on Mar's life. Now, this won't be on Youtube or another streaming service, but a simple direct download. I just want to know if anyone is interested before I put more time into this thing.

That's all the support I need, then. Hm. Want to see a super low-rez demo version? There won't be any voiceovers or sound effects - just the music and my re-editing. Oh, and the episode 5 dailes.

I went ahead and made one anyway. The quality is terrible, but considering that I crammed over 37 minutes of material into just over 10 megs, that isn't half bad. I think it still gets my intentions across.

Here you go.

I like how you cut to the logo and then the start of episode 3 right as his head is moving into the camera on the slidewalk in episode 1, that really works well. I thought you were gonna do a cut as very stops outside Mar's room to wait, too, but you fooled me there. :P It's a good cut after "left us there to die" though.

What's the opening music from? Very dark and moody, nice spare and industrial feeling to it, too. It might be a little too light when he's pulling the gun on Mar.

The cut back to Mar from the freighter exploding is a little abrupt, could maybe use more of a fade-in? Or a longer white-out. Also seems like it could use a switch in music at that point.

It's interesting seeing the video go directly from the end of ep 1 to the start of ep 2, that also seems a little abrupt, I guess because without the episode break in between we wonder where the heck those darn guards appeared from! Tough to do anything about that I suppose. The jump from Vero having Barny knock him out while leaving Metropole to waking up in Sal's ship seems to work a lot better.

Moving Selenis' scene with her computer to after Vero leaves Sal is an interesting choice! Dramatically it might work pretty well, I guess... It's messing with my head because for me the big travel time lapse took place before Sal picked Vero up, whereas by comparison the start of episode 5 comes relatively soon after the end of episode 4, but of course that's all sort of loosey-goosey anyway, I avoid naming exact times whenever possible so I can't get nailed down to exact facts. :D

Cool seeing the dailies in sequence! Man, you just saved me two solid days or more of animation work. =D >_>

Ooh I also like the music as Selenis' ship is bearing down on Sal. The action bits (like Selenis moving her stick and then her ship dodging) will probably animate by much faster than what you've got here, alas.

Whew, done (sorry for the stream of consciousness approach here). Man, it's a trip seeing it all at one go, thanks for putting that together! Now I should probably go draw some dailies for today hm...

"What's the opening music from? Very dark and moody, nice spare and industrial feeling to it, too. It might be a little too light when he's pulling the gun on Mar."

The first few tracks up through and including the gun pull are:

"Tonight the Comedian Died" - Watchmen Score
"Midnight Shadow" - Metal Gear Solid 4
"Only Two Names Remain" - Watchmen Score
"At Dawn" - Metal Gear Solid 4

"The cut back to Mar from the freighter exploding is a little abrupt, could maybe use more of a fade-in? Or a longer white-out."
Ah, I actually forgot to include a fade-in. Good catch, considering that this version of the video is only 15 frames per second.

"Also seems like it could use a switch in music at that point."
I'll consider it. I wanted to try and use as much of each track as possible in this version, but I suppose that isn't a realistic goal.

"It's interesting seeing the video go directly from the end of ep 1 to the start of ep 2, that also seems a little abrupt, I guess because without the episode break in between we wonder where the heck those darn guards appeared from!"

My plan is to have a door woosh and some gun clicks immediately after "one for me" - the idea being that they charged in during his inner monologue :p.

"The jump from Vero having Barny knock him out while leaving Metropole to waking up in Sal's ship seems to work a lot better."
Glad you think so, I was a bit worried about this. I thought about spacing out the flashbacks differently, having at least some of it between those two scenes

I might restore Selenis's scene to the end of episode 2, then.

I assumed as much. That music is just placeholder stuff, anyway - I won't be finishing this version for some time... and my rescored version of episode 5 will sound completely different. At any rate, that track is...

"Confrontation", from Metal Gear Solid 4
