Note to self: 050018196265 is the one with the iffy GD-ROM drive.

Now that I've got the games I want dumped with DreamShell (see entry 1626) and the DC SD Adapter V2 (see entry 1627), my fully functional DC can chill out in the cool relative safety of the cupboard while 050018196265 replaces it as my convex-topped (aids with cooling? ; ) laptop stand. And I get to clear all those VGA cables (Hanzo VGA box (see entry 1618) to JideTech powered splitter (or "distribution amplifier," I suppose), etc off my desk, yesss.

The fully functional one is quite a lower number, 050010000436. They're both "MODEL No.HKT-3000," "UGO DENSHI" and "670-14071E" below the "[NTSC][J]" boxes. 050018196265's case is slightly yellowed, except for the lid.

I got the Dreamcast VMU icons shown at the start from http://dcvmuicons.net ; they're ICONDATA.VMI/VMS files, you just put (with vmuexplorer, if you're doing this with virtual VMUs for an emulator in Windows) the pair you want in the VMU you want to have display them, and that's it!

Yes me, this entry is for the fully functional, non-yellowed one, 050010000436. ^ _^

So yes I basically have this Dreamcast in case I need to dump any more Dreamcast games. For playing the games I'm using the excellent Dreamcast emulator, Flycast (see entry 1615)--which even runs the games with about 2 frames less input delay than the actual Dreamcast does. : )
