| | | ~~~ A play-through of "Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom" as the Fighter in "Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara" on PS3, played at the default "Apprentice" (two skulls out of four) difficulty level, with default rules. Unlike "Shadow Over Mystara," the sequel to "Tower" that is also in this collection, Tower doesn't have much in the way of intense flashing effects: they're mainly limited to magic spells, so, using the Fighter, I was able to avoid that for the most part; the final boss goes HAM with spells anyway, though, so then I just unloaded all the spell items I'd accumulated. : P Come to think of it though I'm not sure they actually affected him. : PP Tower is a very solid game, with more combat options than Capcom's beat 'em ups usually had--especially, I suppose, if you consider the different character classes available--but it's also considerably slower-paced, with some inventory management involved if you want to play "optimally." : P Recorded 10/13/19 w/ PS3, OSSC, Framemeister, Elgato HD60 ~~~ |

| | | Collection defaults to Mystara; have to press Select to toggle to Tower. Runs in 720p. Really is a bit plodding. |

| | | | There's a small border around the active screen, even after sizing the screen up to max with the in-game screen option. |
