| | | https://searchplayground.google/pacman/halloween/ The Google blog article about it https://blog.google/inside-google/doodles/pac-man-45-years/ says it'll be on the Google homepage Oct 30th and 31st--not clear if it'll remain playable after that on its own page. It does say "This year's game features eight levels, including four unique haunted-house mazes designed in partnership with Bandai Namco Entertainment, the parent company of PAC-MAN." Who made the other four levels--Google? You can pause by clicking the Pause button in the upper right; wish it could pause with a key so I could map that to a button on the DualSense with DS4Windows, ah well; touchpad movement & press gets the job done with a bit of fumbling. | | | | I never particularly liked the original Google Pac-Man doodle's maze layout (a Google logo 'p') but at least the first maze here--haven't got past that yet in casual messing about--looks more promisingly vertical arcade-style. |

| | | | The Pac sprite here wears a random (?) hat; at least one of them has a (sorta fuzzy) profile that looks distinctly like Ms. Pac-Man's bow. |

| | | 0:50 - play 1 - trying to demonstrate ghost-in-front-of-fruit quirk 'p' 16:54 - "kill screen" ^_ ^ 21:18 - play 2 37:37 - play 3 44:30 - respawned where I died! 1:05:22 - wait ghost 4 is worth 4600 pts, not "1600" like it says 'p' 1:08:03 - wrap! It gives you loads of extra lives, never gets harder, and ends after 8 stages--so it's a simplified, score attack Pac-Man with a funky Halloween theme. There are a few small rough edges (bonus item pickup sound a bit loud, ghosts move behind rather than in front of bonus items, and I had a glitch once in which I respawned where I had died, rather than at the usual spawn point). The weirdest thing is though I finally figured out uh after busting out a calculator because evidently I can't do math, and going frame-by-frame that the fourth ghost you eat with a single power pellet is worth 4600 points, not the "1600" points number showing on the screen where the ghost was a-la original arcade Pac-Man (and not the "3600" points I fail-culated in my addled head during the video ; D). So the score is REALLY skewed toward getting that 4th ghost with each power pellet, even more so than in original arcade Pac-Man; and the *single* (not two, like arcade Pac-Man) bonus item per stage is relatively unimportant. And for some reason they didn't update that score sprite. :PPPP |

| | | | Oh yeah the other glitch I noticed is that the ghost fleeing sound stops while some ghosts are still edible. |

|
| | | | It is now post-Halloween and the game is indeed still accessible and playable from its searchplayground page. |
