"Super-cardioid" dynamic handheld stage mic, used it on a boom arm; very good recording quality when whispering intimately into it at point-blank range--I did end up giving it the full +30 dB artificial gain in OBS--although this did result in wet mic covers after a while; and ultimately neck pain from having to hold my head steady to the mic while trying to control action games; had to switch to headsets after this.

But I came to it because my Snowball condenser mic--see entry 1997--was too echo-y in my small, hard-walled apartment. The super-cardioid pickup pattern here definitely solved that problem. Used it with a cheap XLR-to-USB converter--no amp or anything like that, thus the necessary +30 artificial dB in OBS. 'p'

The lips-on approach (I got the foam mic covers from Sweetwater, I think) did mean some breathing got captured, vs for instance headset mics where the mic usually sits off to the side, out of the mouth-wind.

Specifically, the headset I went to, after this handheld mic, was the JBL Quantum 100 (see entry 1678).
