| | | ROM extracted from Double Dragon Trilogy (Steam/DotEmu) (see entry 1575). Runs in MAME 0.149--like the Double Dragon ROM from DDT. Wouldn't run in 0.261, 0.265, or 0.271. Defaults to "Hard" dip switch setting. |

| | | 1:38 - playing 13:49 - conveyor 25:18 - combine 28:17 - cows 32:36 - wigs 40:06 - carpet 49:42 - ending & wrap! Checked after recording and DD2 is WAY slower than DD1; in 2 the slowdown starts as soon as a second enemy appears, whereas in 1 the speed is mostly fine with two enemies onscreen. 'p' DD2 started out to be an upgraded version of DD1 and became this weird thing where DD1's giant menacing Abobo thugs are replaced by Abobos in flowing black wigs, stick fighters, and giant geekazoids in suspenders,, lumber replaces concrete and steel, moody swamps and rocky ledges are replaced by a farm with funky-looking cows, and the dark and craggy enemy fortress gets bright lighting, gaudy decor, and brilliantly polished floors. Possibly even more slowdown is added, and the controls are made more confusing. It's The Revenge because in this remix of DD1's story, the girlfriend isn't kidnapped at the start, she's gunned down. DD1's iconic music is entirely replaced here by tunes you'd say are forgettable except that at times they're oddly cheerful. Hm and the sound is slightly lower than I'd like, I'll have it a bit higher if I ever play II again. ; D |
