| | | My cart reader called the USA version I got "Rev 1" and there does seem to be a USA Rev 0 ROM but I can't find what the differences would be between those two. Wikipedia says there are difficulty differences between the Japanese and US versions (no mention of multiple US revs) so maybe USA Rev 0 is region-converted J version? That may or may not have actually been released at retail? One diff Wikipedia notes is to get all levels in the USA version specifically you have to play on the hardest difficulty setting; but notes that on the other hand, in the J version, enemies have more health on the hardest difficulty. https://gamehacking.org/game/29410 Infinite lives: SUOANXVS |

| | | Sooo inf lives cheat doesn't matter if you get sucked through the door in the helicopter or fall off a ledge over a bottomless pit. 'p' This helps a bit Start with 9 lives: PASVETGE Also, the game's hidden continue option requires activation by a different input code depending on the stage at which you need to continue--and if you screw it up or don't enter it fast enough, there's no second chance, apparently! Ugh. So yeah anyway with the two cheat codes uh and maybe a little save stating--well that helps through a couple obnoxious platforming screens, anyway--that shouldn't be a worry. Surprisingly little actual isometric beat-em-up bits though--way too much flat 2D platform bits. Ugh. And then, super-cheap attacks from the non-standard enemy types. So still not really just regular beat-em-upping when any of them are involved, it gets down to cheap slappery. Technos Japan revamped the mechanics for NES III so uh hopefully they also tone down the platforming and obnoxious big enemy attacks too. The Revenge was such a weird phase for them! |
