| | | Meant to be getting T&E Soft's parody sim "New 3D Golf Simulation: Devil's Course" off eBay but didn't look closely enough (the title just had "New 3D Golf Simulation" in it, darn me) and got one of their actual sims instead. Thought well hey maybe it's fun anyway and popped it in but there was a huge multi-sectioned katakana menu and I bailed. Anyway none of these are particularly expensive--Augusta was $10, DC $19--so all a good chuckle, right? Oy. Anyway I'll sell this one. |

| | | I've looked at some other, later T&E Soft golf games: - Their Saturn golf games look pretty great; there's a version of Devil's Course / Wicked 18 with a different course name that I've forgotten, and especially a Pebble Beach game that just looks nice and smooth, with a walrus-y pro golfer popping up and telling you stuff--they're both sorta FMV-style golfers - They put out a couple golf games on PS1 but they don't seem nearly as inspired and look quite bland One of T&E's last games was Disney Golf for PS2. 'p' In fact that might be real T&E's last game; Wikipedia says they changed their name to "D Wonderland Inc" in that year. Meanwhile another company acquired the rights to the T&E Soft name in 2005 and put out a few games under that name like True Swing Golf for DS. 'p' |

| | | Thanks to meauxdal for posting a mag chart showing Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics hitting 7th best selling game for August 1998: https://selectbutton.net/t/videogame-things-you-think-about-a-lot-lot-lot-lot/15363/2047 Oh hey that #7 is mentioned in its Wikipedia article : ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waialae_Country_Club:_True_Golf_Classics You know, I completely spaced on checking US N64 sales. Jeepers. Or 3DO. And I can't find one for Virtual Boy. But yep there's N64 Waialae at 404K US sales--and 1M worldwide, woo. Good catch! ; DDD https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Nintendo_64 What a miss by me. ; D Ironically, that one did not come out in Japan. So...in theory the other 600K sales are EU? But it isn't listed there. So uh hm. Best I could find for 3DO is this forum post https://forums.atariage.com/topic/324535-3do-software-sales-found-platinum-and-gold-best-sellers-as-of-end-of-1995/ , whose link my virus checker insists I do not click. But in the body of the post they note the title with over 100K sold, and guess what's there: True Golf Classics: Pebble Beach Golf Links (3DO) So at least 100K for that one. |
