. Had to set installer to Win 95 compatibility mode. Had to set demo to 8-bit color compatibility mode--that and tweaks with the DGVoodoo2 utility to get the game to run full-screen and pixel-doubled (then I point-doubled the recording in OBS so YouTube wouldn't downgrade playback to 720p)

learned in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHC5g19TxzU

(notably, you have to copy the dgvoodoo2 conf and exe, and files from the MS\x86 folder, into the VF2 demo folder, run dgvoodoo2 from there, and remember to right-click on its background and select "show all sections of the configuration"; that video shows setting the game exe to 16-bit color compatibility after setting 16-bit depth only in dgvoodoo2, but I can't get the demo to run at all in 16-bit compatibility mode under dgvoodoo2 no matter what I set in dgvoodoo2--without dgvoodoo2 I can run the demo in 16-bit mode but only in a window in a 640x480 desktop screen that screws up my video capture ; D). The F6 menu also lets you raise the detail of the characters and backgrounds.

F5 is Options but only works from the Character Select screen! You can set things like Difficulty, mapping the controls to other keys, and changing the game version from 2 to 2.1.

I found later that if I switched the lever switch on my Hori Real Arcade Pro 2017 Edition PS4 arcade stick from DPad to Left Analog--and the mode switch from PS4 to XInput--the lever would work for movement and I could with some trial and error set the buttons in the demo. So it isn't really necessary but is possibly slightly easier to set up for this one game if you already have this utility to use JoyToKey

to map the 1P keys like I did (G=Punch, H=Kick, R=Punch plus Guard, T=Guard plus Kick, Z=Start) to the arcade stick.

The demo has no music, just Sarah Bryant and Lion Rafale, and Arcade Mode ends after one fight (vs Sarah or Lion, randomly). ; D

Heard about Sega PC demos on archive.org from an old episode of the "Sega Saturn, Shiro!" podcast ( https://www.segasaturnshiro.com/category/podcast/ ).

It looks like (I haven't tried these so can't vouch for them!!) there's also Sega Rally 2 Championship Demo https://archive.org/details/SegaRally2Championship , Sonic & Knuckles Collection Demo https://archive.org/details/s-3-ktryeu , and Sonic Heroes Demo https://archive.org/details/SonicHeroes ... Wait what also Virtua Fighter Demo? From 1995? (See entry 2050.) (And actually it looks like a VF Remix demo... Yep MobyGames, Wikipedia, etc say there was a US Remix Windows 95 release in '96.) https://archive.org/details/VFPCdemo Shoot well I'll have to try that one. 'p'
