| | | Wasn't impressed by the PS4 version--entry 1392--some years back but figured I'd try the Steam version, too bad I didn't think of that a week ago when it was on sale for $10. ; ) The FX in this one are even flashier than any other game in the series, which is really saying something. 0_o So that's my excuse for refunding it. I mean, really it's not great feeling on my crusty old sometimes photosensitive eyeballs. But not having any of the DLC for it, and being a total noob and not really knowing anything about it, at surface it seems mostly superseded by Tekken 8 which has somehow charmed me while this one didn't--even though this one runs in native res and runs well--so I'm okay with getting back the 90 GB or whatever it was this one was gonna take on my HD (along with T8's 120 GB plus ;_;). |

Tekken 6 did NOT have character DLC. I reported that Tekken 6 cinematic skip crash bug to RPCS3 and they fixed it in a day! = D https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/issues/18725 Back when I was tryin'a play Tekken all serious n' stuff I bounced right off TTT2 but heck it seems fun and it's got some of the silliest stages so why not. Was having so much fun I forgot to turn off the motion blur in those 720p Tekkens ; ) (6 & TTT2). I've refunded Tekken 7 'cause it still seems a bit dour and charmless to me well and the real problem is it's even more eye-flashy than the other Tekkens and my old eyes don't take that so well. Aside from the goofy always-upscaling thing Unreal 5 does Tekken 8 has been a hoot so far and it runs okay and not really blurry with 100% Scale and TSR even with the other stuff on Low and I love my gender-fluid troll gal tru Mii and after a lot of humming and hawing over DLC I got Heihachi and Armor King. = D Tekken Ball is awful. ; D I mean it's probably fun 2-player or something. | | | | Oh yeah I forgot about the flashy thing. Anyway I wanted to test the kick spam thing so bought it again as "Tekken 7 Originals Edition" (game plus 13 of the many DLC characters) for 85% off, whee. |
| | | | Oh it's all the characters except the guest characters Geese, Noctis, Neegan. It DOES include Street Fighter guest character Akuma, I suppose maybe because he was incorporated into the game's story. |
| | | | Oh and well Akuma was the "bonus final boss" in the base game (ie Tekken 7 Fated Retribution which seems to be what the home versions are based on) https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/Tekken_7:_Fated_Retribution -- he wasn't in the original, arcade Tekken 7 but was added to it in the Fated Retribution update the arcade got. Anyway, he wasn't DLC. |

| | | Spamming down-forward-right-kick, mostly as Marshall or Forest Law, to try to cheese the VERY HARD CPU in Arcade Mode of every Tekken game I've got! 2:25 - Tekken 10:13 - Tekken 2 20:22 - Tekken 3 41:25 - Tekken Tag Tournament HD 48:00 - Tekken 4 1:13:58 - Tekken 5 1:17:25 - Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection 1:21:19 - Tekken 6 1:28:33 - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 1:34:15 - Tekken 7 1:48:34 - Tekken 8 Didn't seem to work in T3, TTTHD, and Tekken 8--not that the vulnerability didn't still seem to be there on the CPU's side for the most part--with the notable exception of CPU Bryan's consistent flip-kick counter in Tekken 8--but that they would counter with ridiculously overpowered stuff that rendered the exploit underpowered and irrelevant. Although that wasn't the case vs Armor King and Lars in T8 who basically just matched my crouch and sat there, letting me kick them repeatedly. So, T8 is weird, sometimes real good, sometimes real bad. ; D Those videos from a few years back when I first found the problem in T5DR and was testing it with every character in just the one game I thought it affected: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIPr7yg4LOo and then retesting some of them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niAdZN29C-E Was surprised by the fudgy control in Tekken 4--backdash input usually failed, side-switching is awkward, and just staying crouched was really frustrating. | | | | Has a bowling mini-game but it's paid DLC. 'p' Also there are kind of obnoxious circular flash FX on every strike, at least. Maybe I'll just stick to the one in TTTHD. |
