This was disappointing. Sure I knew it had wacky unlockable characters and stuff but the actual fighting, even when switched from the default Vipers to Virtua Fighter mode for maybe less floatiness--and definitely less eye-killing flash FX--and yes you can still break off the Vipers' armor--is still too sluggish for proper virtua fighting. The CPU fails to leave an impression and they didn't even bother to come up with a boss character for the fixed gauntlets of opponents you're stuck with (clear the first four and more unlock says GameFAQs).

Seems like Sega AM2 was feeling a little Tekken heat, swiping infinite stages from them but those feel really out of place in the converted VF stages here; and they were trying to show off a bit of the stuff they were working on for VF3--so you've got side-stepping with a fourth, Escape, button, for instance. And I suppose they were really busy and all--so they just mashed out this joke in vague fighting game form.

And then Tekken 3 came and gave them a well-deserved stomping. ; P Mine should be here any day now! = D
