| | | Pretty much Sega's "World Series Baseball" games but with the 12 Japanese pro teams and their players (I think? not that I'd recognize them, but they at least LOOK like they could be pro teams and players) instead of the Western MLB and MLB Players licenses the WSB series had, and which for my obstinate mostly nonsensical reasons I decided I wanted to avoid. They pumped out loads of these in Japan--at least one without the Greatest Nine moniker, but Pro Yakyuu in the title although other companies had that too https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/saturn/category/201-sports-team-baseball-sim , it just means Pro Baseball pretty much--but this is as far as I can tell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB62oQTwv4U the last of them with players as sprites instead of 3D, and before going to a more complicated targeting-style pitching/batting interface minigame thing that is too much for my tiny brain. The controls are relatively simple here and I can almost handle it. ; D And the Japanese announcer voices are pretty great. |

| | | | (World Series Baseball--as Hideo Nomo World Series Baseball--and World Series Baseball II did come out in Japan as well, with their MLB teams and players and all that. WSB '98 did NOT come out in Japan--but did in Korea!--as far as I can tell from GameFAQs; meanwhile though Japan was getting multiple releases of G9 '97 and '98, etc. ; ) |
