With great undersea graphics and a smooth sensation of freely navigating the cool sea lanes, this would have made one heck of a great aquatic racing game. Unfortunately it's an adventure game, so you've got to go sticking your dolphin snout into very dark nooks and crannies looking for things, only to have, say, a jellyfish or a shark come out and bonk into you, which somehow hurts you. Underwater Street Fighter this is not. Maybe someday I'll have more patience for this, but it seems doubtful. |

| | | | Oh I never realized Ecco the Dolphin was always a Western franchise, I thought it was a Sega of Japan thing. Apparently the designer of the 8/16-bit versions, Ed Annunziata, hated this version--well, that's the rumor loki passed along ; D https://selectbutton.net/t/news-thread-xii-xbox-humiliation-ritual-part-12-the-12th/16703/787 |

| | | | The same company worked on this one but Annunziata was slated to work on some other game (that got cancelled): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31nGQ9EACFY&t=3529s -- he doesn't say in that video that he hated the DC version. He does say he hated the Saturn's bad 3D hardware. ; D |
