Added 1 new A* page:Finally figured out that the dungeon crawler I played on the family Commodore 64 computer as a kid was 1983's Gateway to Apshai—took me this long to figure that out because it was a bootleg version my dad came home with (along with a bunch of other suspicious games! no idea where he got them) that called itself "Temple of Apshai"—but Gateway was actually a prequel follow-up to the much more well-known Temple; Temple had come out in 1979, but didn't hit the C64 until the same year as Gateway.
Gateway was blocky and garish, but solid, and you could clunk around and bash things with a sword, what more did one want? Might have been my most played C64 game (and we had "just" that C64 for years while other kids in middle school were getting that hot new NES ; ).

Added 1 new A* page:My current burning obsession with traditional roguelikes seems to have overcome my fear of pure ASCII interfaces, and I found two more that grabbed me:
- Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup - Specifically, the ASCII ("Console") version. Something just very pleasant about the presentation of the colored text, and the streamlined interface, and even though it's more or less a generic roguelike fantasy setting, it feels fresh—maybe because it's a take on the original Rogue that's a bit more independent of the widely influential Moria and Hack lines, carrying on from the mid-90's from-scratch "Linley's Dungeon Crawl" (aka "Crawl").
- Sil-Q - Modern continuation of Sil, a more disciplined, streamlined, Tolkienesque fork of Angband, modified so much that the Angband developers themselves credit it as its own game. Cuts out out Angband's town, it's straight into the dungeon; I like the more solid ASCII art style, and the more structured...everything!

Added 1 new A* page:After a few years of trying to flirt with Rogue-light games, particularly Nuclear Throne and Diablo (PS1), over the weekend I finally poked into *traditional* roguelikes—basically, turn-based, usually fantasy-themed video games in which your adventurer character tries to make their way through procedurally generated dungeons, with no reloading: when they die, it's game over and you start back from the beginning with a new character.
The two I found that I *like* are the H.P. Lovecraft-themed Infra Arcana, and Rogue, or specifically the somewhat modern-ish version with optional tile graphics and sound FX, sometimes called ClassicRogue.
While strictly traditionally, roguelikes have letter graphics and no sound—the original Rogue was developed for play on early 80s Unix mainframe computers—it's probably no coincidence that both Infra Arcana and ClassicRogue have really sweet, optional single-color tile graphics by Oryx Design Lab, as well as optional sound effects.
And like strictly traditional roguelikes, they're both free. : )

Added 1 new A* page:Ages ago when I was putting together my little drawing table set up for A*, the lamps to get seemed to be these "Sunshine" armature lamps that combined a traditional 100 W bulb with a torus-shaped bluish-white bulb around it, forming what was supposedly a close to pure white light between them, so you'd be able to see your colors clearly when coloring.
Well they do that, but I've also been realizing that eyeballs aren't super fond of blue light. I've switched to using two regular (in two separate lamps; and they're LED these days, whatever) bulbs with their yellowish light, rather than a regular and a bluish one, and my eyeballs seem happier. I don't really do naturalistic color anyway so no need to hit the peepers with that blue!
